DMK gears for snap polls in Tamil Nadu on Kanimozhi's behest
Does the Chief opposition party in Tamil Nadu know something that the ruling party doesn't? That seems to be the case with leaders of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam asking cadres to prepare for snap polls in Tamil Nadu. DMK MP Kanimozhi is said to have told party workers to begin preparations for polls in the state where a by-poll is scheduled to be held on April 12.

While the government looks stable in Tamil Nadu at the moment with Sasikala supporters and family at the helm of affairs, political pundits too have also been speculating the possibility of a collapse. The government's balance is precariously placed with a divided party cadre. The R K Nagar by-poll is expected to be a deal breaker or maker for many in the AIADMK.
While some MLAs have clearly made their choice between O Panneerselvam and Sasikala Natarajan, neutral MLAs who have extended support to the Edappadi Palanisamy government are choosing their sides now. MLAs like Arun Kumar who had maintained a neutral stand jumped to Panneerselvam camp on Sunday giving the opposition the space to predict cracks in the government. It may be recalled that the union government had dimissed the Janaki Ramachandran-led government in Tamil Nadu after she ahd won the vote of confidence in assembly. Kanimozhi's advise to party cadre to prep for snap polls adds to the speculations already making the rounds.
