DMDK leader Vijaykant loses

Chennai, May 19: DMDK leader and chief ministerial candidate for the six-party alliance Vijaykant came a poor third in Tamil Nadu's Ulundurpettai constituency.

AIADMK's R.Kumaraguru won the seat, defeating his closest rival, DMK's G.R.Vasanthavel by a margin of 4,395 votes.

Actor-turned-politician Vijaykant got 34,447 votes.

Right from the beginning, it was evident that Vijaykant would face a tough time in Ulundurpettai.
