Diwali Train Ticket Booking 2023: Railway Ticket Counters And IRCTC Open Bookings
With the Diwali festival around the corner, thousands of people are expected to reserve their train tickets for festive travel. The railway department has announced the commencement of bookings for this year's Diwali.
This year, Diwali Festival will be celebrated on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in India. Advance reservations are made generally up to 120 days in advance for all classes and all trains.

According to officials, Diwali rail ticket bookings will commence today, 12th July. Both rail ticket counters and the online platform IRCTC will be accessible from 8 am onwards.
Passengers who make their bookings today will be eligible to travel on November 9th. For those intending to travel on November 10th, the booking slot will open on 12th July. Similarly, bookings for November 11th can be made starting from 13th July, and for November 12th, the booking window will open on July 14th.
A senior officer from the southern railways stated, "This time, the number of passengers is expected to rise, especially since Diwali falls on a Sunday. Travelers are advised to make early bookings to avoid last-minute congestion. Details regarding Diwali special trains will be announced later, based on the demand."
The Diwali train offers various amenities such as clean and well-maintained coaches, on-board catering services, and adequate security measures.
