In a string of tweets, Divyanka urged PM Modi to clear the garbage that the rapists are under his Clean India Campaign as for once one can survive in the garbage but not under the fear of being raped.

The Yeh Hai Mohabbatein actress invoked PM Modi's Swacch Bharat campaign and asked him to rid India of the 'filth of rapists.' She wrote: "I never prayed for a son but now I'm afraid to have a daughter. What will I tell her? Why did I bring to her living hell?"

In another tweet Divyanka said "Punish these violators in a way that it becomes a lesson to those who think about committing such a crime. We have faith in you, please do something."

In a reply to her fan, Divyanga said We live in fear and criminals live fearlessly! I can teach my daughter great values but in such a scenario can't promise her a free life! Post independence day celebrations we are more in need of women freedom, she said with a hashtag of WomenFreedomFight.

The actor asked Modi about his 'Beti Bachao' campaign and said that the campaign failed on the Independence Day itself.

A class VIII student, on her way to attend the Independence Day function at her government school, was allegedly raped by an unknown man at a nullaha located near Children Traffic Park (CTP), Sector 23, in Chandigarh on Tuesday.

The incident occurred just 10 days after the stalking and abduction bid with the daughter of a senior IAS officer by two men including the son of Haryana BJP chief, Subhash Barala, Vikas Barala, and his friend, Ashish Kumar, in Chandigarh on August 4.

Divyanka Tripathi currently headlines the cast of television show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, where she plays the role of a responsible mother, who can do anything to safeguard her children.
