Nuh Police Confirm Resolution of Dispute Between Sweet Shop Owner and Customer Over Online Hate Posts

The Nuh Police reported that a dispute involving offensive online posts against a sweet shop was amicably settled on Thursday. The conflict arose between the shop's owner and a customer. Girraj Prasad, who owns Lala Chandiram Sweets in Anaj Mandi, had filed a complaint about misleading online propaganda targeting his business on Facebook.

Dispute Resolved Between Sweet Shop Owner and Customer

Prasad's complaint stemmed from an incident where he declined a customer's payment via UPI. He alleged that on July 21, false accusations were made on Facebook against his shop and its Muslim employees. "Ten to 12 Muslim employees work at my shop. For the last 30 years, milk has been supplied by suppliers from the Muslim community...It is a well-planned conspiracy and an attempt to spoil the brotherhood and incite communal riots," Prasad mentioned in the complaint.

Resolution of Dispute

Following the filing of the FIR, social activists and local political figures met with DC Vishram Kumar Meena. Nuh SP Rajesh Kumar was also present during this meeting. Meena clarified that the issue was not linked to any specific community but was solely between the shop owner and a customer, and it has now been resolved.

Both Girraj Prasad and the customer expressed regret over the incident. Prasad also agreed to display a notice outside his shop regarding accepted payment methods. This step aims to prevent similar misunderstandings in the future.

Ten individuals were charged after Prasad's complaint highlighted false allegations against his shop on social media. The accusations included claims about his Muslim employees, which Prasad believed were part of a deliberate attempt to disrupt communal harmony.

The police sources indicated that the situation escalated after Prasad's refusal to accept UPI payments, leading to online misinformation campaigns against his business. The resolution of this matter underscores the importance of addressing misunderstandings promptly to maintain peace.
