TN CM Edappadi Palanisamy sacks TTV Dinakaran from AIADMK
TTV Dinakaran, however, claimed that Palanisamy had no right to sack him
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy and minister of his cabinet passed a resolution terming TTV Dinakaran's appointment as AIADMK deputy general secretary 'illegal'. The move comes as a massive blow to the Sasikala faction of the party. Dinakaran, however, remained defiant and said that none could remove him from the party.

On Thursday, a resolution was passed against Dinakaran and all his statements were deemed nonbinding on the party. The appointments that he has made have also been deemed invalid. The resolution asks cadres to reject any statement, decision and appointments made by TTV Dinakaran. The move comes as a massive embarrassment to Dinakaran who hoped to return to the helm of affairs in the AIADMK.
Hours after the resolution was passed, TTV Dinakaran hit back at Edappadi Palanisamy, accusing him of being a cheat. "When everybody else who was appointed by Sasikala can continue in their posts, why can't I? Action will be initiated against all rebels. None can remove me from the party," said TTV Dinakaran.
While the resolution sacks Dinakaran from the party and all posts, there is no mention of Sasikala Natarajan. The question on the validity of her appointment is still before the Election Commission of India. Palanisamy's resolution comes days after TTV Dinakaran 'exercised his powers' as the Deputy General Secretary of the party and announced a statewide tour. The decision to prove his superiority has definitely not gone down well with the Edappadi Palanisamy camp.
Edappadi Palanisamy, the man who Sasikala made the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu before going to jail has now rebelled against the Mannargudi family. The resolution is said to be the result of backdoor negotiations between two factions of the AIADMK to make way for a merger.
The resolution now completely sidelines Dinakaran from the AIADMK and makes way for a merger with O Panneerselvam camp. With Dinakaran out of the way, the merger of the two camps led by Edappadi Palanisamy and Panneerselvam is expected to be smooth.
