Digvijaya Singh Criticises Pakistan Defence Minister for Comments on Article 370
Congress leader Digvijaya Singh criticised Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif for his comments on Article 370. Singh stated that Pakistan should not interfere in India's internal matters. Asif had remarked that the Shehbaz Sharif government and the Congress-National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir shared views on restoring Article 370.

In an interview, Asif mentioned that both Pakistan and the National Conference-Congress alliance were aligned on the issue of reinstating Article 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir. "They have made it an election issue," he said. Singh condemned these remarks, asserting that Asif had no right to comment on such matters.
Political Tensions and Criticisms
Singh also criticised the central government's "one nation, one election" initiative, calling it a distraction from the Modi administration's shortcomings. He claimed this initiative was meant to divert attention from failures and internal conflicts within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to Singh, the country's economy and social harmony have deteriorated, challenging Modi's leadership.
The Congress leader further argued that if simultaneous elections were implemented, it could undermine India's federal structure. He suggested that such a system might prevent governments from being removed before completing their five-year term, even without a majority. This, he claimed, would be detrimental to parliamentary politics in India.
Allegations Against BJP Leadership
Singh accused BJP leaders of making threatening statements against Rahul Gandhi under the influence of Prime Minister Modi and the party's leadership. He suggested these actions were orchestrated by those in power to intimidate opposition leaders.
The ongoing political discourse highlights tensions between parties over national issues like Article 370. Singh's remarks reflect broader concerns about governance and political strategies in India. The debate continues as parties prepare for upcoming elections, with each side presenting its stance on key issues affecting the nation.
