DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma Reviews Security Measures Along Jammu's International Border Areas
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, recently visited the International Border (IB) areas in Jammu district. The visit aimed to assess the security and operational readiness of the BSF and police forces, according to officials. Sharma's inspection covered three sub-sectors: Arnia, Bishnah, and R S Pura.

During his tour, Sharma evaluated the situation in sensitive locations like Aik Nallah, Phaghu Nallah, Chakroi, and Sai. He met with police officials and Village Defence Group members to discuss enhancing security measures. The DIG also engaged in discussions with BSF authorities to improve coordination under the Border Management System.
Focus on Security Coordination
Sharma's visit included border outposts such as Sai Harpal, Suchetgarh, and Bakarpur. His focus was on addressing security concerns and establishing joint checkpoints for better outcomes. Officials highlighted that these measures are crucial for maintaining peace and security in the region.
At the Border Police Posts of Dewangarh and Hara Pir Checkpost in Sai Kallan Chakroi, Sharma instructed officials to address public grievances promptly. He emphasized the importance of vigilance among personnel, particularly during night hours, to monitor anti-social and anti-national activities.
Community Involvement Encouraged
The DIG urged local residents to provide timely information to the police. This cooperation is vital for maintaining security and peace in these areas. Officials stressed that community involvement plays a significant role in enhancing security measures along the border.
Sharma's visit underscores the ongoing efforts to strengthen security along the International Border. By focusing on coordination between various forces and engaging with local communities, authorities aim to ensure a safer environment in these sensitive regions.
