Didn't expect PM would respond so fast, says Muslim girl after getting education loan

Sara, a resident of Sugar Town in Mandya had sought a loan from the Central Bank of India to complete her studies from PES college.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi helped a Muslim girl from Karnataka's Mandya district to continue her education. B B Sara, an MBA student from Karnataka had written to Modi for financial assistance to continue her studies. A reply from the PMO ensured that she received an education loan within 10 days of her request.

'I was confident that PM will respond but did not expect it to be so fast, I got a reply in just 10 days,' Sara said.

Sara said that she had approached for an education loan in Central bank of India but the bank had refused to approve her loan despite she scored good percentage. The bank authorities even questioned her whether she be able to repay the loan because her father who works at sugar factory had not received salary for eight months. However, her repeated request to the bank authorities had fallen on deaf ears.

Tired of bank authorities delaying the loan approval process, Sara along with her father Abdul Ilyas wrote to the prime minister, seeking assistance. Within 10 days of receiving an acknowledgement, the girl was given a loan of Rs 1.5 lakh from Vijaya bank after they found her eligible for education loan.

Sara in her letter had urged the prime minister that if he would help him under his Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao scheme, she would be able to complete her studies.
