Did not enter Jayalalithaa’s residence say IT officials

The Income Tax officials said that they did not enter the residence of Jayalalithaa. The raids were restricted to the room used by Jayalalithaa's personal assistant Poongundran.

The search was restricted only to the room of the PA as they were looking for certain documents. The raids were conducted after taking permission from the authorities concerned, IT officials also added.

IT officials have conducted raids in Tamil Nadu since November 9. Various locations belonging to Sasikala's aides were raided.

It may be recalled that the officials had also inspected Poogundran's residence in Adyar during the raids. Searches were also conducted at the premises of the Jaya TV.
