'Dictator Should Be Destroyed': Arvind Kejriwal's Wife Slams PM Modi After Delhi CM's CBI Arrest

The arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the CBI in the excise policy case has sparked a strong reaction from his wife, Sunita Kejriwal.

On Thursday, she slammed the arrest, and the previous day, she had accused the system of working to ensure that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor remains in jail.

"Till now the prayer has always been that God should give wisdom to everyone. But now the prayer will be that the dictator should be destroyed," Sunita Kejriwal posted on X.

On Wednesday, Delhi's Rouse Avenue court ordered a three-day CBI custody for Kejriwal. During this remand period, the court permitted his wife, Sunita, to visit him for 30 minutes and allowed his lawyer to meet him daily for the same duration. The court also permitted Kejriwal to have his prescribed medications during his custody.

"Arvind Kejriwal got bail on 20th June. Immediately ED got a stay. The very next day CBI made him an accused. And today he was arrested. The whole system is trying to ensure that the man does not come out of jail. This is not law. This is a dictatorship, this is emergency," she had posted.

The CBI, in its remand application, expressed the need for Kejriwal's custody to uncover a "larger conspiracy" in the excise policy case.

According to the CBI, Kejriwal mentioned that Vijay Nair was working with Saurabh Bhardwaj and Atishi. However, while speaking in the courtroom, Kejriwal denied the CBI's claims that he was shifting the blame onto his colleague, Manish Sisodia.

"CBI is claiming that I have made a statement against Manish Sisodia, which is completely false. Manish Sisodia is innocent, Aam Aadmi Party is innocent. I am also innocent. The statements are being given in the media to defame us," he said.
