Dhoni as Lord Vishnu: SC quashes criminal proceedings
Ace cricketer, M S Dhoni got a major reprieve with the Supreme Court quashing a criminal case against him after he had posed as Lord Vishnu. The verdict comes as a breather for the cricketer against whom a criminal complaint was filed in Andhra Pradesh for 'hurting religious sentiments'. The court said that the intent was not malicious while quashing proceedings.

A case was registered against the cricket after he posed as 'Lord Vishnu' of brand endorsement on a magazine's cover page. A complaint with similar allegations that was filed against the cricketer in Bengaluru was quashed in 2016. On the cover of a business magazine, M S Dhoni was depicted as Lord Vishnu, holding several things, including a shoe in his hands.
