Devotees In Mathura's Banke Bihari Temple Drink Dripping AC Water Believing It's 'Charan Amrit' | WATCH

Recently, devotees at the renowned Banke Bihari Mandir in Vrindavan, Mathura, were seen queuing up to drink water dripping from the mouth of an elephant sculpture, believing it to be 'Charan Amrit' or holy water from the feet of Lord Krishna.

Devotees Drink Dripping AC Water

Footage from Vrindavan's famous Banke Bihari Temple, now viral online, shows dozens of devotees gathering to drink water flowing from an elephant sculpture on the wall. Some devotees collected the water in cups, while others cupped their hands to catch a few drops of what they believed to be sacred water.

A report in Jagran revealed that the water was actually coming from elephant-shaped pipes integrated into the temple's architecture, and what devotees thought to be Charan Amrit was, in fact, AC discharge.

In the video taken at this Uttar Pradesh temple, a person filming is heard informing some devotees that the water they were drinking was actually from the air conditioning system. Despite this caution, many temple visitors continued to drink the water or splash themselves with it.

Reactions

The video has gone massively viral, amassing 2.8 million views on X alone.

In the comments, many viewers questioned the devotees' gullibility, while others lamented the absence of scientific awareness.

"A mind without scientific temper is the birthplace of myths, superstition, hate, division. It's a threat to democracy and promotes herd mentality," wrote one X user.

"Why does nobody stop for a second and even think about what's happening here? Such a herd mentality," another remarked.

The video also prompted a warning from The Liver Doc, who cautioned his followers against drinking AC water. "Cooling and air conditioning systems are breeding grounds for many types of infections, including some very dangerous fungi," he wrote.

The incident reminded viewers of the 2012 "Weeping crucifix" event in Mumbai, where water appeared to flow from the feet of a statue of Jesus. Hundreds of devotees gathered, believing it to be a miracle, until it was later revealed that the water was due to a faulty sewage system.
