Development-craving people can’t be lured by false sloganeering: Rana
Jammu, Dec 16: Asserting that peoples' yearning for development cannot be held hostage to emotive sloganeering, provincial President Mr Devender Singh Rana on Monday said that acknowledging this crucial factor National Conference has always tagged infrastructural growth top on its agenda.
"The past six years stand testimony to the initiatives taken by National Conference-led government to put Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh on developmental track and accomplishing the projects within set time-frame so that fruits of development reach the targeted segments", Mr Rana said while addressing a series of election meetings across the constituency.

Mr Rana, who is contesting from Nagrota as NC candidate, said the people of Jammu and Kashmir deserved a better deal and that is what the National Conference strived for.
The dedicated efforts and sincerity of purpose shown by the Chief Minister made things moving towards right direction, which did not go well with those who found their political standing getting eroded. Nevertheless, the National Conference pursued its people-friendly agenda of enhancing quality of life in terms of upgrading facilities and undertaking development. "This will remain our guiding philosophy as ever before", he said and complimented the people for making the mission achievable by their unflinching support.
In this context, Mr Rana referred to the longing of Nagrota people who refused to get swayed by rhetoric or emotive exploitation and remained steadfast in their pursuit for development.
This yielded desired results notwithstanding the elected representative leaving them in lurch for 12 years. He described the people's determination for development as a success story, which helped in changing the profile of the constituency.
"With a sense of confidence, the people of Nagrota were now looking for a big opening, as a satellite township, which will not meet their aspirations alone but provide much needed space to those who stand for growth of the capital city as Greater Jammu.
The Provincial President exhorted the people to retain the spirit that motivated them to lead their constituency to progress and development. He said he has been and will continue to remain their companion in this odyssey as ever before. He referred to the steps taken for bringing about cheer in the lives of people by giving new impetus to development in rural development, public health, power, roads and bridges and allied sectors.
The works undertaken during the past seven years, especially since his election as Member Legislative Council, have changed the overall scenario in each sector. "This will get further momentum in the years to come", he assured the people and hoped for a new and bright era for Nagrota in the years to come.
