Dera violence: Haryana CM rejects calls for resignation, says whatever we did was right
Under fire from the Opposition, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar met his party chief Amit Shah on Wednesday in Delhi to submit a report on violence that erupted on August 25 after a CBI court in Panchkula convicted self-styled godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh of rape.

Rejected Opposition's calls for his resignation, Khattar said: "It doesn't matter what they say, but we are satisfied with our actions. Whatever we did was right. Now there is peace in Haryana."
Khattar further said that the government reacted befittingly to the situation and added that his government complied with the Punjab and Haryana High Court's order.
On claims of Dera support to Haryana government he said that "Its a democracy,we appeal all grps&welcome support. That doesnt mean you break law-Khattar on Dera saying BJP came to power wth their support".
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the two states to submit a list of Ram Rahim's properties and assets by Tuesday, which will be attached and used to compensate loss of life/property during the violence.
At least 32 people were killed and more than 350 injured in the violence that spread to other parts of Haryana besides Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi.
