Ajit Pawar Oversees Pune's Key Projects Including Phule Memorial

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar took proactive steps in Pune on Friday, focusing on the preparation for the upcoming Ashadhi Wari Palkhi pilgrimage and several developmental projects within the district. His day was packed with meetings aimed at reviewing and accelerating various initiatives, showcasing his commitment to enhancing the region's infrastructure and cultural heritage.

The Ashadhi Wari Palkhi, a revered annual pilgrimage that sees devotees trekking from Alandi-Dehu in Pune to the Lord Vitthal Temple in Pandharpur, Solapur district, was a key focus. Scheduled to commence on June 29 and conclude on July 17, on the auspicious day of Ashadhi Ekadashi, Pawar emphasized the importance of meticulous planning to ensure a smooth journey for the thousands of pilgrims expected to participate.

Another significant project under Pawar's scrutiny was the development of a memorial for Savitribai Phule in Bhide Wada, Pune. Recognizing Phule's monumental contribution to women's education in India, he urged the administration to fast-track the construction and tendering process. The memorial is set to feature educational courses for women and a museum dedicated to Phile's life and work.

In addition to cultural projects, Pawar addressed urban challenges, including traffic management and infrastructure development. He announced plans for a new state-of-the-art building to serve as the Pune commissionerate complex, equipped with modern facilities. Furthermore, with the monsoon season approaching, he directed efforts towards preventing water logging in Pune, aiming to mitigate traffic disruptions and ensure public safety during rains.
