Deputy CM Pawar Inspects Phule Memorial and Wari Preparations in Pune

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar took proactive steps in Pune on Friday, focusing on the preparation for the upcoming Ashadhi Wari Palkhi pilgrimage and other developmental projects within the district. His day was packed with meetings aimed at reviewing the progress of various initiatives, highlighting his commitment to ensuring the smooth execution of these events and projects.

Pawar Reviews Punes Key Projects

The Deputy Chief Minister paid special attention to the arrangements for the Ashadhi Wari Palkhi, a significant annual pilgrimage that sees devotees trekking from Alandi-Dehu in Pune district to the Lord Vitthal Temple in Pandharpur, Solapur district. Scheduled to commence on June 29, this spiritual journey will culminate on July 17, coinciding with Ashadhi Ekadashi. Pawar instructed the local administration to ensure all necessary preparations are made well in advance to accommodate the pilgrims.

Development of Savitribai Phule Memorial

Ajit Pawar's agenda also included a review of the ongoing work at the memorial of Savitribai Phule in Bhide Wada, a site of historical significance as it hosted the first school for girls in India founded by Phule. The Deputy CM emphasized the importance of accelerating the development process and expediting the tendering process. He shared plans for the memorial to feature educational courses for women and a state-of-the-art museum dedicated to Savitribai Phule's life and legacy.

Enhancements in Pune's Infrastructure

In addition to cultural and historical projects, Pawar also turned his attention towards modernizing Pune's infrastructure. He announced plans for a new building to serve as the Pune commissionerate complex, equipped with modern facilities. This initiative is part of a broader effort to enhance administrative efficiency in the region.

The Deputy Chief Minister did not overlook the practical aspects of city management, particularly traffic and water logging issues. With the monsoon season approaching, he directed the administration to implement measures preventing water logging, thereby mitigating traffic disruptions during rains.

Ajit Pawar's engagements in Pune reflect a comprehensive approach to governance, balancing cultural preservation with infrastructural development and urban planning. His directives aim not only at enriching Maharashtra's cultural heritage but also at improving the quality of life for its residents through better amenities and efficient administrative services.
