Dense fog envelopes Uttar Pradesh, cripples life

Lucknow, Jan 4: Dense fog enveloped most parts of Uttar Pradesh on Monday, severely crippling road, rail and air traffic.

More than 150 trains, including many important ones, were running late by more than 4 hours, Railway officials told IANS.

The trains running late by several hours included the Gareeb Rath Express, Gomti Express, Shatabdi Express, Swatantrata Sangram Senani Express and Magadh Express. Meanwhile, as many as four persons were killed in fog-related road mishaps as well.

The weatherman has predicted that fog was here to stay and is likely to disrupt normal life for the next few days. Several flights to and from Lucknow have also been affected due to poor visibility and dense fog.
