Denied money for picnic, Class 9 student jumps to her death

Kalyan, Dec 8: A 14-year old Class 9 student jumped to her death from her fifth storey apartment after she was refused Rs 750 for a picnic organised at school.

While the parents were left shattered, they could not comprehend that their eldest daughter could have taken such a drastic step for such a petty issue.

A student of convent school in Dombivli, she used to stay with her parents, a brother and a sister. Her father owns a Chinese Restaurant and comes home late.

When he returned on Sunday, the girl asked for the money, which he refused. Upset, she went to the balcony of her flat at around 2 am and jumped to her death.

She was rushed to the hospital immediately where she was declared brought dead.

Assistant Police inspector of Manpada police station said,"The primary probe shows that the girl's school had organised a picnic and Radha had demanded money for it. But when father refused for it victim committed suicide." Meanwhile, they have registered an accidental report.
