Demonetisation: Soon 20,000 petrol pumps to dispense cash
Currently there are 686 petrol pumps that are dispensing cash to customers
Bengaluru, Nov 19: Very soon, there will be 20,000 petrol pumps which will dispense cash against swiping of debit cards. The government had a few days back decided that petrol pumps would start dispensing cash against swiping of debit cards.

Currently there are 686 petrol pumps that are dispensing cash. The immediate target is to increase this number to 2,500 across the country following which it would gradually increase to 20,000, the petroleum ministry has said.

Following the decision on demonetisation, it was announced that petrol pumps would start dispensing cash.
Cash dispensing facility is operational in at least 686 petrol pumps as of now. Cash of up to Rs 2,000 is being dispensed in petrol pumps now where card swipe machines of the State Bank of India are readily available.
