Indore, Nov 15: Indore district administration has issued an order under section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code prohibiting circulation of 'objectionable' text messages or audio/video clips on the social media regarding the demonetisation of high value notes.
"Anti-social elements were putting out objectionable video and audio clips and were texting messages in connection with the scrapping of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes which could disturb the peace," said an official of the Madhya Pradesh state public relations department.

Therefore, collector P Narhari yesterday invoked section 144 of CrPC prohibiting sending of such content via social media, and the order will be in force till January 12, he said, adding that violators would face action as per the law.
