New Delhi, Nov 28: The Congress on Monday continued to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetisation decision, terming it the "biggest scam in Independent India" and demanding that he apologise for the "mess" he has created.

"Demonetisation is the biggest scam in Independent India," party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said at a media briefing.

Demanding that Modi should "apologise for creating a mess in the whole country", the Congress leader said the Prime Minister now "needs to come up with a solution for the entire chaos he has created".

By a "single disastrous decision, Modi has brought the entire country to a standstill and has demonetised the whole country," he added.
