The inauguration ceremony was led by Lt Governor V K Saxena who also announced that a convention hall capable of hosting summit-level meetings is in the pipeline for the park.

Baansera: A Transformation Story

In his address to reporters after unveiling the commemorative plaque at Baansera, Lt Governor Saxena reflected on the transformation journey of this site. "One year ago, this site was a place of construction and demolition C&D waste where it was even difficult to come," he said. However, through concerted efforts over time and strategic planning, today it stands as an emblematic testament to urban rejuvenation. Around 28 acres of land has been reclaimed from waste and nearly 30,000 different species of bamboo have been planted here.

The Role Of Delhi Development Authority

The metamorphosis from a dumping ground into an eco-friendly public space took around six to seven months under the supervision of Delhi Development Authority (DDA). The DDA has played a significant role in transforming this space into one where big events can be hosted without any hassle or inconvenience.

Upcoming Additions To Baansera

As part of its future development plan for Baansera park campus, DDA intends to build more structures aimed at enhancing public convenience. This includes building a restaurant which is scheduled for completion next month along with other facilities. Notably on cards is also the construction of a convention hall that will begin in October. The proposed convention hall aims not just at hosting local events but also those at international summit level indicating high standards being set for its design and functionality.
