Woman and Her Two Children Found Dead in Delhi Home, Suspected Suicide
The city of New Delhi was shaken on Sunday, October 8th, as the bodies of a woman and her two children were discovered in their home in southwest Delhi’s Munirka. The deceased have been identified as Varsha Sharma and her two young children aged four and two-and-a-half years. The victims had injuries on their wrists caused by a sharp weapon, leading police to suspect that this could be an instance of murder-suicide.
Tragic Discovery

According to police reports, the call came in around 10:30 am about a possible suicide at a house located in Munirka village. A team from the Kishangarh police station was dispatched immediately to investigate the scene. Upon arrival, they found themselves forced to break open the doors of the residence.
Inside, they made a grim discovery -the bodies of Mrs.Sharma and her two young children with wounds inflicted by what appeared to be a sharp object on their wrists. Prima facie evidence suggested that Mrs.Sharma may have killed her children before taking her own life.
A Grieving Husband
Mrs.Sharma was married to a constable working with the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Their marriage took place back in 2017. As news broke out about this tragic incident, it is assumed that he has been notified about his family’s untimely demise.
Ongoing Investigation
In light of these events, law enforcement officers continue their investigation into this tragic case. They are currently working under the hypothesis that Mrs.Sharma might have taken drastic measures resulting in this horrific event; however, no conclusion has yet been reached pending further investigations.
The sub-divisional magistrate has also been informed for conducting official proceedings related to death inquiries or 'inquest proceedings'. This is a standard procedure in cases of unnatural death, which includes suicide and suspected murder.
Legal action will be taken based on the findings from these investigations. The police have assured that every aspect of this case will be thoroughly examined to ensure justice for the victims.
A Community in Shock
The incident has left the Munirka community in shock, as they grapple with the horrifying event that unfolded within their midst. Neighbours and friends are struggling to come to terms with how such a tragedy could occur in what seemed like an ordinary family.
In conclusion, this tragic event underscores the importance of mental health awareness and support mechanisms within communities. It also highlights the need for effective communication channels between individuals who may be dealing with personal crises and professionals who can provide help. As investigations continue into this heart-wrenching incident, it serves as a stark reminder of how despair can lead to devastating consequences if not addressed promptly and appropriately.
