Delhi: Who Is Mukesh Ahlawat? AAP's Sultanpur Majra MLA Likely To Be In Atishi's Cabinet

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Mukesh Ahlawat is likely to join designated Chief Minister Atishi as a Cabinet Minister. As per sources, Mukesh Ahlawat will take the oath of office on Saturday along with Atishi. While four other Delhi cabinet ministers namely Gopal Rai, Kailash Gehlot, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and Imran Hussain will stay in their positions.

AAP MLA Atishi, who was handling over 13 departments when Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia were in jail representing the Kalkaji constituency in the Assembly, is poised to succeed Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister. She holds the portfolios in the current. Kejriwal resigned after receiving bail from the Supreme Court regarding the Delhi excise policy case. Atishi will be only the third woman to hold this position in Delhi.

Mukesh Ahlawat's Political Journey

Mukesh Ahlawat represents Sultan Pur Majra in Delhi's Assembly. He first contested and won this seat in 2020 on an AAP ticket. Known for his influence as a Dalit leader from North West Delhi, his name surfaced during Lok Sabha elections discussions. However, due to an alliance seat-sharing arrangement, Congress contested that seat instead.

Atishi expressed her commitment to working towards making Arvind Kejriwal Chief Minister again. She stated, "People of Delhi, AAP MLAs and I - as the CM for a few months till elections, will work with just one goal. We have to make Arvind Kejriwal the CM of Delhi once again." Her focus remains on safeguarding Delhi's citizens while leading under Kejriwal's guidance.
