Delhi Weather Today: Hottest Day In February In 2 Years! Showers Bring Relief, But Will Temps Drop?

Light rain fell over Delhi-NCR in the early hours of the morning, leaving the skies overcast. The meteorological department had already predicted strong winds and light rain for three days- February 26, 27, and 28.

According to the weather department, light or very light rain is likely in Delhi over the next two days due to a western disturbance. This could bring a drop in temperature by up to six degrees Celsius. On Thursday, there may be fog in the morning, followed by light or very light rain and thunder. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 26 degrees Celsius, while the minimum could be 18 degrees Celsius.

Warmest Day In February 2025

Meanwhile, temperatures have been rising steadily across the national capital and nearby areas. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature reached 32.4 degrees Celsius, which was 3.3 degrees Celsius higher than the previous day. This meant that the maximum temperature was 6.3 degrees Celsius above normal. It was also the first time this season that Delhi's temperature crossed 30 degrees Celsius. As a result, Wednesday became not only the hottest day of February but also the warmest February day in the last two years.

The meteorological department had also forecasted light or very light rain for Wednesday night. However, by 9 PM, no rain had been recorded. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was 32.4 degrees Celsius, which was 6.3 degrees Celsius above normal. The minimum temperature stood at 15.4 degrees Celsius, which was 2.9 degrees Celsius above normal. The highest temperature of 32.6°C was recorded in Pitampura.

A day earlier, Delhi's maximum temperature was 29.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 11.7 degrees Celsius. In February last year, temperatures did not cross 30 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature recorded that month was 29.7 degrees Celsius on February 19.

Before this year, the last time Delhi experienced such high February temperatures was on February 21, 2023, when the maximum temperature reached 33.6 degrees Celsius. That was the hottest February day in 16 years, since 2009.
