Delhi's Vigilance Portal Receives Over 550 Complaints, Mostly Against MCD and Police
The Vigilance Complaint Information Management System (VCIMS), introduced by Lt Governor V K Saxena in 2023, has received over 550 complaints to date. Most of these complaints are directed at the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and Delhi Police, officials reported on Thursday.

Since its inception in September 2023, the portal has logged a total of 561 complaints against various departments within the Delhi government. The MCD tops the list with 105 complaints, followed by Delhi Police with 71, Delhi Jal Board with 44, and Delhi Transport Corporation with 39, among others.
Speedy Disposal of Complaints
A senior Delhi government officer mentioned that during a recent review of the complaints, instructions were given for their swift and time-bound resolution. This directive aims to address issues related to irregularities and corruption promptly.
Approximately half of the 561 complaints have been closed for various reasons. The remaining cases are at different stages of resolution. The portal was designed to facilitate quick action while ensuring transparency and confidentiality in handling corruption complaints.
Ensuring Genuine Complaints
To maintain the integrity of the system, complainants must submit an e-undertaking to discourage frivolous complaints. This measure ensures that only serious grievances are filed through the platform.
Users must complete a one-time registration using their mobile number along with either Aadhaar, PAN, or Election ID number. This registration process is mandatory for accessing the platform. Complainants receive updates on their complaint status via SMS sent to their registered mobile numbers.
The VCIMS portal simplifies the process of lodging corruption complaints against government employees while protecting the anonymity of complainants. This system aims to enhance accountability and transparency within government departments.
The initiative reflects a significant step towards addressing corruption and ensuring that public grievances are handled efficiently. The focus remains on maintaining a transparent process while safeguarding the identity of those who report misconduct.
The introduction of VCIMS marks an important development in promoting good governance and accountability in Delhi's administrative framework. By streamlining the complaint process and ensuring timely action, the system aims to build public trust in government institutions.
