Delhi: Udyog Bhawan Receives Bomb Threat, CISF On High Alert
A high alert was issued at the Udyog Bhawan in New Delhi due to a threatening email hinting at a potential bomb attack with the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The email, aimed at the Secretary of the Ministry of Heavy Industries, suggested that suicide IEDs might be deployed within the Udyog Bhawan premises. Situated near key government landmarks such as the Parliament House and the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Udyog Bhawan is located in a zone of heightened security. This building is home to the Ministry of Heavy Industries among other government departments.
Following the threat, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) was directed by the Union Secretary to take immediate and appropriate measures. Consequently, the building was cleared out as a safety measure. The security measures in the surrounding areas have been significantly increased, with officials taking all necessary steps to ensure safety.

In a separate incident on the same day, Chandigarh Police were alerted to a bomb threat at the Haryana Chief Minister's office, leading to increased security measures around this and other critical government locations. The threat, made via a phone call, indicated an intention to detonate explosives at the Chief Minister's office. This triggered a rapid response from law enforcement, with bomb disposal units and armed personnel conducting thorough searches around the Haryana Secretariat and the Chief Minister's residence. Despite the intense scrutiny, no suspicious objects have been discovered yet, although the situation remains under close watch as authorities attempt to trace the source of the threat.
