Delhi Police Arrest Two After Shootout at Property Dealer's Office

New Delhi witnessed a dramatic shoot-out in Dwarka's Jharoda area on Saturday evening, leading to the arrest of two men. The duo, identified as Veerpal, 20, and Ankit, 22, allegedly engaged in gunfire at a property dealer's office. The confrontation with the police resulted in Veerpal sustaining a bullet injury to his leg, necessitating medical attention at DDU Hospital.

Two Arrested in Delhi Office Shootout

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Dwarka, Ankit Singh, detailed the events leading to their arrest. According to Singh, the accused had previously targeted the same property dealer's office on Friday afternoon. Their return to the scene in identical attire and on the same motorcycle prompted immediate action from law enforcement. A police team, under the leadership of Inspector Kamlesh and already stationed in the vicinity for surveillance, initiated a chase that culminated in the apprehension of the suspects near Jharoda.

The encounter escalated when Veerpal reportedly fired at the approaching police officers, who then returned fire. Following their capture, Ankit underwent interrogation while Veerpal received medical treatment. The investigation revealed that both individuals were associated with the notorious Kala Jathedi gang. Their motive was to extort protection money from the property dealer, as confirmed by police statements.

The incident has prompted further investigations by the police to uncover additional details and possibly apprehend more gang members involved in similar criminal activities. This event underscores the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in curbing organized crime and ensuring public safety in New Delhi.

The swift response by the Dwarka police not only prevented potential harm but also showcased their commitment to maintaining law and order. As investigations continue, this incident adds to the growing concern over gang-related activities in urban areas and the measures necessary to combat them.
