Delhi Records 25.8°C Minimum After Rainfall, AQI At Moderate Level

Parts of Delhi-NCR experienced a sudden spell of heavy rain and strong winds on Saturday, offering a refreshing break from the persistent summer heat. The downpour led to a noticeable drop in temperatures, making the weekend weather more enjoyable for residents.

Noida and surrounding regions also witnessed cloudy skies and similar weather patterns, further contributing to the brief but welcome respite. The rain came as a relief to citizens who had been enduring scorching conditions over the past week.

Delhi Records 25 8 C Minimum After Rainfall AQI at Moderate Level

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 25.8°C on Saturday, which is 0.7 degrees below the seasonal average. At 9 a.m., the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) noted an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 179, placing the city in the "moderate" air quality category.

CPCB categorizes AQI readings as follows:

0-50: Good

51-100: Satisfactory

101-200: Moderate

201-300: Poor

301-400: Very Poor

401-500: Severe

What to Expect in the Coming Days

Though Saturday brought relief, temperatures are expected to climb again over the next few days. Here's the IMD forecast:

May 11, 2025: Daytime temperatures will hover between 37°C and 39°C, with northwesterly winds gusting up to 35 kmph. Dry conditions will prevail under partly cloudy skies. No heatwave is expected.

May 12, 2025: The maximum temperature may touch 40°C, with continued gusty northwest winds. The skies will remain partly cloudy. It will be warm but not hot enough to trigger a heatwave warning.

May 13, 2025: Temperatures could reach up to 41°C. Winds will be mild, and the weather will remain partly cloudy. While no heatwave has been declared, afternoons are expected to feel hot.

May 14, 2025: A warm and dry day is likely with highs between 39°C and 41°C. Wind activity will be limited, and skies will continue to show patchy clouds.

May 15, 2025: Temperatures are forecast to stay within the 39°C to 41°C range. Winds will start turning southwesterly. Conditions will remain warm, though not extreme.

May 16, 2025: The weather will remain partly cloudy, with no significant shift in temperature trends.

Despite the temporary relief provided by Saturday's rain, Delhi residents should prepare for a return to warm and dry conditions in the week ahead.
