Delhi: DPS Principal's daughter commits suicide inside school premise

New Delhi, Oct 22: While the entire city was busy in preparations for Diwali, Principal of Delhi Public School (DPS) at RK Puram in Delhi received the most shocking news on Wednesday, Oct 22. His daughter has been found dead at his official residence inside the school premises.

The 29-year-old woman, who has been identified as Anjana Saini, was reported to have committed suicide. Her body was found hanging from ceiling fan in the wee hours of Wednesday.

According to police sources, Saini was not married and she was working in a private firm in the city. However, reason behind her decision of committing suicide has not been revealed yet.

She was rushed to Fortis Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for postmortem to ascertain the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, investigating police officers discovered a suicide note from her room. According to sources, the Saini wrote that she has committed suicide on her own will and no one should be held responsible for it. Police have not revealed further content of the note and are analyzing it.

The suicide note has already been sent to verify the handwriting. The police have initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC into the case and are waiting for the autopsy report. Prima facie ruled out any foulplay.
