Delhi Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar being questioned by CBI
New Delhi, Dec 16: The Principal Secretary of Delhi, Rajendra Kumar has arrived at the CBI office where he will be questioned. On Tuesday, the CBI had conducted raids at the Delhi secretariat following a complaint against Kumar in which allegations of corruption were made.
The CBI was acting on a complaint by another bureaucrat Ashish Joshi who had alleged that Kumar had helped some former bureaucrats while setting up a software firm.
The CBI claimed yesterday that during a search conducted at the residence of Kumar they had recovered cash of Rs 2.2 lakh and also foreign currency valued at around Rs 3 lakh. The CBI is currently questioning him.
Further
Kumar
has
also
been
accused
of
criminal
misconduct.
The
CBI
officials
say
that
they
were
trying
to
ascertain
how
this
firm
was
favoured
and
whether
Kumar
had
used
his
official
position
to
do
the
same.
CBI
officials
further
informed
that
the
allegations
of
a
witch
hunt
is
baseless.
This was a case under investigation and the probe needed to be furthered, the official also said. We are trying to ascertain if the software firm managed to get contacts by using the influence that Kumar had since he was in an official position, the CBI officer also informed.
