Delhi Police Set to Recreate Crime Scene at Kejriwal's Residence with Aide

The Delhi Police is set to conduct a crucial procedure in the investigation of an alleged assault involving a high-profile aide of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Bibhav Kumar, the personal assistant to Kejriwal, was arrested on charges of assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The incident reportedly occurred at the Chief Minister's residence on the morning of May 13. In a significant development, officials have disclosed plans to recreate the crime scene at Kejriwal's residence on Sunday.

Kumar's arrest took place at the CM's residence around noon on Saturday, following suspicions of his involvement in the assault. The police have been meticulously interrogating Kumar, focusing on his activities and whereabouts on the day of the incident. There are concerns that his presence at the CM's house on Saturday morning was an attempt to tamper with evidence related to the case.

Upon learning of Kumar's presence at the CM's residence, a team from the local police station swiftly responded to apprehend him. The investigation has delved into Kumar's location at the time the FIR was filed against him at the Civil Lines police station on Thursday. Initial suspicions had led authorities to believe he might have been in Punjab, as attempts to reach him via his mobile phone were unsuccessful.

Further inquiries have been made regarding Kumar's actions and communications on May 13, including any interactions with Maliwal. Police efforts have revealed that Kumar had deleted certain chats and other content from his mobile phones, which have since been confiscated as part of the investigation.

Questions have also been raised about Kumar's activities and Kejriwal's presence at the residence when Maliwal arrived at 9 am on the day of the alleged assault. In response to these allegations, Kumar has filed a counter-complaint claiming that Maliwal had entered Kejriwal's house without an appointment and had misbehaved when he attempted to stop her.

In their thorough examination of evidence, Delhi Police have collected footage from eight CCTV cameras and secured the DVR from the CM's residence. However, it has been noted that there was no CCTV camera installed in the drawing room where the alleged assault on Maliwal is said to have taken place, adding a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.
