Delhi Police Foil Gogi Gang Attack in Rohini, Three Arrested

A tense shootout erupted on September 20 in Rohini's Budh Vihar area between Delhi Police and members of the notorious Gogi gang. During the encounter, three gang members were apprehended, while two others sustained gunshot injuries.

The confrontation began when a patrol from PS Budh Vihar intercepted a suspicious white Swift near Bankey Bihari Mandir in Sector-24. Intelligence had indicated that Lallu, a known Gogi gang operative, along with associates, planned to attack the residence of a key figure linked to the Gau Rakshak Dal, following a recent mob lynching.

Arrests and Injuries

Two of the arrested, Lallu and Irfan, were injured during the shootout and have received medical treatment. The third, Nitesh, was taken into custody unharmed. Police recovered the gang's vehicle and the firearms used in the attack.

Crackdown on Organized Crime

The operation is part of an ongoing Delhi Police initiative to dismantle organized criminal networks in the National Capital Region. The Gogi gang has been linked to multiple crimes, including extortion and intimidation.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are continuing their probe to locate remaining gang members and have increased patrolling and intelligence operations in Rohini and nearby areas. During the encounter, the gang attempted to ram the police vehicle and fired indiscriminately, prompting a tactical response that left Lallu and Irfan injured, while two associates managed to escape. Sophisticated weapons were recovered from the suspects.
