Delhi's Patel Nagar saw an intense contest in Assembly Election 2025 between Raaj Kumar Anand, who switched sides from AAP to BJP against AAP's Pravesh Ratn and senior Congress leader Krishna Tirath.

This area, once a refugee colony, is part of the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency and lies within West Delhi district's three subdivisions and is reserved for Scheduled Castes category.

In the previous election of 2015, Hazari Lal Chauhan from AAP secured victory with 68,868 votes against BJP's Krishna Tirath who received 34,230 votes.
