Delhi on high alert after Pakistan school attack

New Delhi, Dec 16: In the wake of a terror attack on a school in Pakistan's Peshawar city in which over 100 students were killed, Delhi Police have sounded an alert to keep watch on schools here in the capital city.

Delhi police have sent a message to all 160 police stations in the city to keep check on the schools lying in their jurisdiction.

"We have asked all eleven (police) districts' heads and station house officers of the capital to keep a check on the schools and colleges falling in their area," a police officer told IANS.

"All the beat officials have been asked to visit the schools and colleges falling in their jurisdiction and keep a proper watch on the security there. The officials have been asked to keep in touch with the school and college authorities to ensure the security of students," he said.

According to the officer, the area official have been asked to inform school and college administration to keep proper watch on people entering the premises of their organisation.

Over 100 students were among those killed Tuesday when heavily-armed Taliban terrorists stormed an army-run school in Peshawar city and opened indiscriminate fire on them, in one of the most gruesome attacks against children in recent years.
