Delhi, Noida Schools Evacuated Amid Bomb Threat, Police Confirm Hoax After Thorough Checks

Several schools in Delhi and one in Noida received a bomb threat via email on Wednesday morning, prompting authorities to undertake mass evacuations and send students home immediately, as reported by police officials.

The bomb threat was directed towards schools including Delhi Public School's (DPS) Dwarka and Vasant Kunj units, Mother Mary School in East Mayur Vihar, Sanskriti School, Amity School in Pushp Vihar, DAV School in South West Delhi, and DPS Noida.

Delhi Police on Bomb Threats

Several schools in Delhi received bomb threat emails, prompting thorough checks by the Delhi Police. After conducting protocols, no objectionable items were found, suggesting the calls were likely a hoax. The public is urged to remain calm and maintain peace.

Meanwhile, Regarding the threat mail to some schools in Delhi, it has been stated by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) that there is no need to panic. The calls appear to be a hoax, and necessary steps are being taken by Delhi Police and security agencies as per protocol.

Delhi, Noida Schools Receive Bomb Threat

Upon receipt of the threat, school premises were evacuated, and students were swiftly sent home, according to sources from India Today TV. The threat initially targeted DPS Dwarka at 6 am, leading to the deployment of personnel from the Delhi Police, along with several fire tenders and the bomb disposal squad (BDS) to the location.

A comprehensive search was conducted at DPS Dwarka, but no suspicious items were found, officials confirmed. Similar searches were conducted at other schools mentioned, including Mother Mary School, Sanskriti School, Amity School, and DPS Noida.

Initial investigations revealed that the IP addresses used to send the threatening emails originated from outside India, with suspicions that a VPN was used to mask the source. An ongoing investigation is being conducted by authorities about this incident.

Earlier in February of the same year, Delhi Public School, RK Puram, also received a bomb threat call, leading to a search operation by police that yielded no suspicious findings.
