Delhi NCR Weather Update:Will It Rain in Delhi Today? Temperature To Rise To 23 Degrees, IMD Issues Yellow Ale

A major change is expected in the weather of Delhi-NCR this week. Amid the ongoing cold conditions, rainfall is likely to knock on the doors of the national capital.

Due to the impact of a new western disturbance, cloudy skies are expected over Delhi this week, along with rainfall and strong winds.

After the rain, cold conditions may intensify once again. Rain and snowfall in the hill states could also lead to cold wave conditions, causing a further drop in temperatures.

When Will It Rain in Delhi?

According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi is likely to witness partly cloudy skies today. Light to moderate fog may prevail during the morning hours. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 25 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may hover near 7 degrees Celsius.

A noticeable change in weather is expected from Friday. A yellow alert for rain has been issued for Delhi on January 23. Cloudy skies will dominate throughout the day, and light rainfall is likely between morning and afternoon. Strong winds blowing at a speed of 30 to 40 km per hour are also expected.

Another spell of light drizzle may occur during the afternoon or evening hours. On this day, the maximum temperature may drop to around 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature could remain near 13 degrees Celsius.

Weather Fluctuations to Continue This Week

Cloud movement is expected to continue over Delhi throughout the week. On January 24, skies are likely to remain cloudy, accompanied by strong winds at speeds of 20 to 30 km per hour. Light to moderate fog may persist during the morning hours.

Similar weather conditions are expected on January 25 and 26, with partly cloudy skies and morning fog. Mild sunshine may be seen during the day.

After this, light rain is again expected on January 27. During this period, the maximum temperature may stay between 20 and 21 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to range between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius.

Weather Conditions Over the Past 24 Hours

Over the past 24 hours, Delhi experienced fog and light haze during the morning, leading to reduced visibility. According to the Meteorological Department, visibility at Safdarjung was recorded at around 300 metres at 7:30 am, while Palam recorded visibility of about 600 metres.

The city witnessed bright sunshine during the day, which brought a slight feeling of warmth. The maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 24.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature stood at 7.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum humidity level was 45 per cent, while maximum humidity reached 100 per cent.
