Delhi Metro has decided to run extra train trips across its network from Thursday. The metro will run 3317 train trips instead of 3131, an increase of 186 train trips to provide increased capacity in this weather.

Usually, metro services run from 06.00 AM till about 11.00 PM.

The Metro trains run very intensively nonstop from morning till late night throughout the year and therefore need regular maintenance and checkups.

The train maintenance wing of DMRC has reworked the entire maintenance planning so that extra trains are available for performing more trips for the general public of Delhi-NCR.

As the weather condition in the city needs urgent addressing the DMRC has decided to implement the above plan with immediate effect from today afternoon which will result in an increase of approximately 80-90 trips today itself i.e, from 8th November 2017 (Wednesday)

Besides this, deployment of additional ticketing operators, customer facilitation agents, CISF personnel has been done to facilitate the passengers and their speedy frisking. A team of officers has been directed to monitor major stations for smooth traffic movement and monitoring of stations/line is also being done from the control room.
