New Delhi, Nov 11: In a recent development in the New Delhi maid torture and death case, the BSP minister Dhananjay Singh has been directed to be in police custody by a Delhi court. While Dhananjay's wife is the main convict, charged with the murder of a domestic help Rakhi from West Bengal, the minister has been booked with charges of hiding evidences.

In an autopsy report 2 days ago, it was confirmed that the maid died of the brutality meted out on her. Injury and burn marks were found on the chest, stomach, arms and legs of the domestic help. There were two other domestic helps-a juvenile from Varanasi and another (Meena) from West Bengal-who too were tortured mercilessly. While Meena is undergoing treatment at RML hospital in New Delhi, Rakhi had to die a death without treatment.

Sources further say that when Rakhi was tortured on the eve of Diwali, she needed medical assistance, but her employers denied her that too. She was beaten by wooden sticks, iron press, rods and metallic antlers.
