Delhi HC

27-year-old M.Sc. student, Najeeb Ahmed, went missing on October 15 following a scuffle allegedly with ABVP members the night before.

Ahmed was beaten up by a mob of students, reported to be from Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), on the night of October 14 after a student named Vikrant had gone to his room at Mahi-Mandavi hostel to campaign for the post of mess secretary.

Last month, Mahi-Mandvi hostel is said to have received a letter by a woman claiming that she has information about Najeeb Ahmed's disappearance.

The letter also claimed that the mysterious woman had seen Najeb Ahmed at a market in Aligarh. Najeeb had managed to flee from where he had been locked down and sought her help. She further mentioned her address where she could be contacted. When the Crime Branch reached to the given address in the letter, no one could be found.
