Delhi and Gujarat Police Seize 1,300 kg of Narcotics Linked to South America
Police in Delhi and Gujarat have uncovered a significant drug operation involving 1,300 kg of narcotics. These drugs were transported from South America to a pharmaceutical company in Gujarat for purification before being distributed to Delhi. Authorities have seized 1,289 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana, valued at over Rs 13,000 crore, from both regions.

The most recent seizure occurred on Sunday when a joint effort by Delhi and Gujarat Police led to the confiscation of 518 kg of cocaine, worth approximately Rs 5,000 crore, in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. Five individuals were apprehended during this operation. This discovery is linked to an earlier recovery of 700 kg of cocaine in Delhi.
Drug Purification and Distribution Network
Delhi Police revealed that the cocaine was refined at Avkar Drugs Limited Company in Ankleshwar by mixing it with chemicals before being sent to Delhi. Among those arrested were three co-owners of the company: Vijay Bhesaniya, Ashwani Ramani, and Brijesh Kothiya. Mayur Desale managed production at the company, while Amit acted as a mediator between suppliers and the company's owners.
The five accused appeared in court in Ankleshwar on Monday. The Special Cell obtained their transit remand to bring them to Delhi for further questioning. A senior police officer stated that over 700 kg of cocaine seized in Delhi within two weeks originated from the same company in Ankleshwar.
International Drug Syndicate Connections
Investigations have shown that around 1,300 kg of drugs were brought to Ankleshwar from South America for purification and subsequent distribution to Delhi. Over 700 kg had already been delivered, while another 518 kg was pending arrival. The suppliers reportedly used Delhi as a transit hub for distributing drugs across India.
The three company owners were promised substantial payments for purifying and distributing the drugs nationwide. Raids are ongoing in various parts of Delhi and Gujarat. Amit, a Vadodara resident, is suspected of having connections with UK-based handlers working under Virender Basoya alias Veeru, the kingpin of an international syndicate operating from Dubai.
Recent Drug Seizures
The exact drug route remains unclear, but police are investigating it. On October 2, the Special Cell seized over 560 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana worth Rs 5,620 crore from a godown in Mahipalpur, south Delhi. Four individuals were arrested during this operation, with two more apprehended later in Amritsar and Chennai.
A week later, on October 9, another significant drug bust occurred when the Special Cell seized 208 kg of cocaine worth Rs 2,080 crore from a rented shop in west Delhi. With these recent seizures, authorities have recovered a total of 1,289 kg of cocaine and 40 kg of hydroponic marijuana from Delhi and Gujarat.
The number of arrests related to these operations has now reached twelve. The investigation continues as authorities work to dismantle this extensive drug network and uncover further details about its operations.
