Delhi Government Schools Set New Benchmarks in CBSE Board Exam Results
The Delhi government recently shared the performance outcomes of students in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) 2024 exams, revealing impressive achievements. Specifically, 96.99% of Class 12 students and 94.2% of Class 10 students from Delhi government schools have successfully passed their exams. These figures not only highlight a significant improvement in the academic performance of these students but also position them well above the national average for CBSE results.

This year's results mark a notable increase in the success rate among Delhi's government school students, with Class 12 results showing a 5.4% improvement and Class 10 results up by 8.36% compared to previous years. An official statement highlighted that 307 Delhi government schools achieved a 100% pass rate in Class 12 exams, more than doubling last year's count of 118 schools. Similarly, for Class 10, the number of schools with a 100% pass rate rose to 327 from 124 in the previous year.
Furthermore, the number of schools with over a 90% pass rate in the Class 12 board exams has increased to 863 from last year's 647. These achievements have been met with widespread acclaim from various quarters, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Education Minister Atishi, both of whom took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their congratulations and pride in the students, teachers, and parents involved.
Chief Minister Kejriwal praised the collective effort behind these results, stating, "Delhi government schools have got a fantastic result of 96.99%, in the Class 12 CBSE exam! Not only does this surpass our own performance of last year, but it surpasses the CBSE national average as well...Congratulations to all students, teachers, parents and the entire Education Department for this spectacular performance." Similarly, Education Minister Atishi commended the Delhi education model for setting an example for the nation and congratulated everyone for their hard work and phenomenal success.
In terms of participation, this year saw a total of 1,51,429 students from Delhi government-run schools appearing for the Class 12 board exams, with 1,46,885 successfully clearing them. For Class 10, out of the 1,64,996 students who sat for the exams, 1,55,442 passed while 9,449 received compartment notices.
The remarkable achievements of Delhi's government school students in the CBSE exams underscore the effectiveness of the education policies and initiatives implemented by the local government. These results not only reflect academic excellence but also demonstrate significant progress towards educational equity and quality improvement in public schooling systems.
