Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Train Timing, Stations, Ticket Cost
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor on January 5. This new 13-kilometre section, stretching from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar, will cut travel time by a third. Commuters can now journey from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South in under 40 minutes.
The Namo Bharat corridor's launch marks its first connectivity in Delhi. Passenger services will start at 5 pm, with trains running every 15 minutes. The corridor spans 55 km between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South, featuring 11 stations.

Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Stations
The operational stations include New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South. Previously, the route had nine stations over 42 km. With two new stations in Delhi, it now extends to 55 km.
Future plans involve opening Sarai Kale Khan and Jangpura stations by April and May 2025. Additionally, the corridor will extend from Meerut South to Modipuram Depot via Shatabdi Nagar and Begumpul.
Namo Bharat Infrastructure and Environmental Impact
The newly inaugurated section includes six km underground with Anand Vihar as a key station. This is the first time Namo Bharat trains will operate underground. Special infrastructure includes three bridges over the Ghazipur drain for vehicle and pedestrian movement.
Once fully operational, the corridor is expected to remove over one lakh private vehicles from roads annually. It aims to reduce carbon emissions by 2.5 lakh tonnes each year.
Namo Bharat Corridor Features
The entire corridor spans 82 km from Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut. It will feature 16 Namo Bharat stations plus nine additional ones for the Meerut Metro.
The project prioritises passenger convenience with free drinking water and washrooms at stations. Trains have a dedicated women's coach and reserved seating for women, elderly passengers, and Divyaangjans.
Namo Bharat Ticketing Options
Fares range from Rs 150 for standard coaches to Rs 225 for premium coaches between New Ashok Nagar and Meerut South. Minimum fares are Rs 20 for standard coaches and Rs 30 for premium ones.
Passengers can buy digital QR code tickets via the 'RapidX Connect' app or use any National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). Paper QR code tickets are available through Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) or at station counters.
Namo Bharat Safety Measures
Namo Bharat trains have specific spaces for wheelchairs and stretchers inside. A train attendant is present on each train to assist passengers. Panic buttons are installed inside coaches and on platform screen doors for emergencies.
