Good news for ladies who drink! Delhi gets 'women's only' liquor store

New Delhi, Dec 30: In our country, wine-beer shop never considered safe for women. Ladies who want to drink always think twice before going to ‘Theka' (liquor store in Delhi is known with this name).

They always told not to visit the liquor shops as its environment is not considered safe for them. Apart from safety issue, women folk can't even face frenzy crowd at the place. At shops, men could be seen falling upon each other to get one bottle bear or whisky.

Keeping these issues in mind, a Delhi store reportedly has taken up initiative to open ‘ladies only section for the same. Opened in October this year, well-lit government-run wine and beer shop is in Mayur Vihar 1.

The shop which is getting lots of social media praise for this endeavour is in Star City Mall in East Delhi, right next to DLF The Galleria,
The best part about the shop is that it has appointed female attendant to cater women folk.

When asked about the move, a woman who is now regular visitor was quoted by the Indian Express as saying, "Girls can be intimidated at most liquor stores because guys try to letch or just look at you in a weird way". I do prefer going to (the ladies-only store) because it's not crowded at all and you can look around."
