Delhi Court To Pronounce Verdict In 1984 Riots Case Against Ex-Congress MP On Feb 7

Ahead of the Delhi Election Result 2025, a Delhi court will pronounce verdict in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots on February 7. Special judge Kaveri Baweja is expected to pronounce verdict against accused Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, who allegedly provoked anti-Sikh riots four decades ago.

The decision was reserved by the court and on December 21, 2024, the judge allowed some time to prosecution to argue on certain points on a plea by the state.

"Put up for judgment on the next date of hearing," the judge said.

It was learned that arguments were submitted in the by defence counsel's on January 8, 2025, and now, the court will pronounce its verdict in the alleged killings of Jaswant Singh and his son Tarundeep Singh on November 1, 1984, that took place reportedly in Saraswati Vihar area during the anti-Sikh riots in 1984.
