Delhi Court Grants 3 Days Bail To Manish Sisodia

Prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and deputy Chief Minister in Delhi's Arvind Kejriwal Government, Manish Sisodia, who has been behind bars in connection with alleged money laundering in Delhi's liquor policy scandal, has been granted bail on by a Delhi court. According to the reports, the court has granted him bail on a special request to attend his niece's wedding.

The bail has been approved by Special Judge MK Nagpal.

The reports said Sisodia would be relieved from investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from February 13th to 15th.

Sisodia's role in scrapping the liquor policy was also under suspicion.

Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023.

Senior advocate Mohit Mathur, who is representing Manish Sisodia, stated, "Previously, the court had granted permission to Sisodia ji to visit his wife, and there have been no instances of him violating any conditions imposed by the court."

Earlier this month, the same judicial panel had allowed Sisodia to visit his ailing wife once a week while detained in both cases filed against him.

The court's decision came a day after AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal announced to contest Lok Sabha elections on all seven seats without support from Congress. The decision was a major set back for the INDIA bloc, which is eyeing to dethrone PM Narendra Modi. Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Maan, who is running the AAP government in the state, had also cleared his stance on 15 Lok Sabha seats as he announced not to go solo in the upcoming general elections.
