Guest teachers are renewed every year that is why they are demanding regularisation of their jobs.

Nearly 12,000 teachers are working in MCD and Delhi government schools on contractual basis. Such teachers have been teaching in schools for more than 10 years, but are not being made permanent.

Earlier, around 150 contractual teachers working in MCD and Delhi government schools raised slogans outside Kejriwal's house like "Finish contractual employment in Delhi", "Make us permanent".

"Despite teaching for several years, we don't know when we could lose our jobs," Mohammad Irshad, a teacher, said.

After Kejriwal took over as Chief Minister, contractual employees hired by different departments have been gathering outside his Kausambi residence demanding permanent employment.
