Uttar Pradesh CM Grieves Deaths in Delhi Coaching Centre Flooding

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed sorrow over the deaths of three civil services aspirants after heavy rain flooded a coaching centre's basement in Delhi's Old Rajinder Nagar. One of the deceased was from Uttar Pradesh. The incident occurred on Saturday, trapping the students in the library.

CM Mourns Delhi Student Deaths

In a post on X, Adityanath stated, "The death of students in an unfortunate accident at a coaching centre in Delhi is extremely sad and heart-breaking. My condolences are with the bereaved families." He also directed officers to assist the family of the student from Ambedkar Nagar district.

Details of the Incident

Relief Commissioner G.S. Naveen Kumar identified Shreya Yadav from Hashimpur Barsawan village in Ambedkar Nagar as one of the victims. Ambedkar Nagar District Magistrate Avinash Singh, Superintendent of Police Kaustubh, ADM Finance and Revenue Sadanand Gupta, and SDM Saurabh Shukla met her family to offer support.

Shreya's father mentioned that her younger brother Dharmendra Yadav, who lives in Delhi, was her local guardian. The post-mortem examination was conducted at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi. Uttar Pradesh ministers Girish Yadav and Satish Sharma visited Shreya's residence to provide assistance.

Reactions from Political Leaders

Samajwadi Party (SP) chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary confirmed that Navin Dalving from Kerala and Tanya from Telangana also died in the incident. SP national president Akhilesh Yadav expressed deep grief over the deaths, describing the incident as extremely sad and offering condolences to the families.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati also expressed her sorrow on X, stating, "It is very sad that two girl students and one boy student preparing for civil services exam died due to rainwater filling in the basement of IAS Study Circle located in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. My deepest condolences to the victims' family." She called for punishment for those responsible and corrective steps by the government.

Support for Bereaved Families

The Uttar Pradesh government assured all possible help to Shreya Yadav's family. Her body is being transported from Delhi to Ambedkar Nagar. Officials have been instructed to coordinate with Delhi authorities to ensure support for the grieving family.

The tragic event has drawn attention to safety measures at educational institutions, especially during adverse weather conditions. The community mourns the loss of these young aspirants who were preparing for their future careers.
