Attacking the chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women Barkha Singh, Upadhyay said due to "failure" of the DCW to discharge its duties, issues regarding women are raised only when a critical incident happens and no serious action is taken afterwards.

"It is irony that the chairperson of DCW is such a person who enjoys the benefits of the post but does not fight for the issues of women safety," he said. According to the party, it has formed a committee to look into the problems of women and also take the suggestions on the security of women and ensure implementation by Delhi Police and Government.

"It will also hear the bad experiences of working women in various areas of the national capital on Saturday and Sunday and apprise the government about these issues," Upadhyay added. Slamming Congress, the Delhi BJP president also asked the party to tell the people steps taken by its former MLA and DCW chairperson Barkha Singh for the security of women.
